Tonight I continued with the combined tests of the RF board (part 1), front panel board and filter board. All tests up to the VFO test are ok, including LED/LCD, error codes, sidetone generator, voltmeter, keyer and filter board relays. On the picture below you can see the very first thing K1 says, when no filter board is found.
During the tests I was amazed by the test procedures. You actually learn to use your K1 while you do the tests. Wonderful design. It is really a great feeling to see the K1 alive and well. The backlight with the high intensity setting was a very good choice and looks cool (it is difficult to capture with cheap camera).
I may forget to go to bed tonight…
