During my indoor tests of the ATX-1080 tonight I tried to switch to 80 meters.
On 80 meters the ATX can be tuned down to “1 bar” using the radial I cut for 40 meter use. Optimal length of the telscopic section seems to be 117 cm, at least indoors. This corresponds to all but the top element deployed.
I could hear OKØEU (beacon) on 3594 kHz. It was sending with 1W to a magnetic loop and I could hear it with 579 most of the time but QSB down to S1. No QSOs though…
