Wannabe Graphic Artist and Free Software

Can a wannabe graphic artist like myself do anything nice when playing with free software on GNU/Linux? I let you decide for yourself.

I created this short video to test how well Celestia 1.5 runs on my computer when using very high resolution textures. I also took this opportunity to test the new Kdenlive 0.7 non-linear video editor – way too cool! The video was created on GNU/Linux using only free and open source software.
Background music by Niels Bassler.

I rendered the video to 640×360, which is the new standard 16:9 format on YouTube, then uploaded to both YouTube and Vimeo. You can see the results from both. As you can see the YouTube is not quite as good as Vimeo, but quite acceptable.
